Isack Hadjar will miss this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix after sustaining a wrist injury during Formula 1’s summer shutdown, Red Bull have confirmed.
The injury occurred during a training session, with reports indicating that Hadjar injured himself while boxing. BBC Sport, citing a source close to the team, reported that the incident resulted in a broken hand, although Red Bull’s official statement only confirmed a wrist injury and did not disclose the specific cause.
Hadjar’s absence will see Liam Lawson return to Red Bull for the Zandvoort weekend, stepping up from Racing Bulls to partner Max Verstappen.
Yuki Tsunoda will take Lawson’s place at Racing Bulls alongside Arvid Lindblad.
Hadjar’s absence is particularly notable given that Zandvoort is where he scored his maiden Formula 1 podium last season, finishing third for Racing Bulls.
Red Bull wished Hadjar a speedy recovery, while Lawson will now prepare to return to the senior team at the Dutch Grand Prix.
